Entering the modern era like now, almost all daily activities have become easier to do thanks to the ever-evolving technology in education. Technological developments exist in various sectors of people’s lives, including in the field of education.

Cambridge International research through the 2018 Global Education Census shows that Indonesian students are very familiar with technology, not only in interacting on social media, but also for learning needs.

The use of technology, especially digital technology, has been proven to increase student interest in learning. This is because the facilities provided by digital technology are more attractive so that students can avoid boredom when taking lessons.

1. Online Technology in education

Currently, internet-based learning is rife, such as web-learning, e-learning or online learning via video, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, so this is an opportunity for online tutoring to help students who are studying online.

According to the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) the purpose of digital libraries is to provide smoothness in a systematic development process by storing, collecting, and organizing knowledge and information in digital formats.

Students can access books in digital form and study them, without having to come to the library directly or having to buy books in physical form. This is advantageous because students can study anywhere and anytime.

6. Student Attendance with Fingerprints

This system can make it easier for schools or universities to record the arrival of students, teachers and staff so that those in charge can monitor discipline. This system can also be integrated with an SMS Gateway or application.

If there are students, teachers or staff who are absent several times, a warning will be given via SMS to the cellphone concerned.
